If you are staying at Orchard Gites you can easily take a trip to Jersey
The time that the ferry from Granville leaves the port varies with the time of high tide. I left at 9 am and arrived in Jesey an hour later, at 9am!! So - thanks to the fact that Jersey is on UK time you have already got off to a great start.
Ticket can be booked online but you need to book by 6pm the previous day. I always leave things to the last minute and managed to book with directferries at 11.30 pm but I think I was pushing my luck
When you get to Granville, follow signs to the port. Parking at the ferry terminal is free!
You are asked to check in an hour before the ferry leaves both on the outbound and return trip.
This ferry is for foot passengers only but the bus service on the island is good so with a bit off planning before hand you can make the most of your visit. My friends and I went sea-kayaking, which despite the choppy looking sea, was great fun and showed us Jersey from a different viewpoint.
I caught a return ferry at 6.30 pm but again, departure times can vary so check departure times when making your booking.
